Welcome to the 24th season of Strath Haven Football on Havenfootball.net. Back in 2002 we started this “little endeavor” with the idea that we could bring better game statistics, more game photos and simply create a more fun and exciting environment for fans of Strath Haven football. None of us really gave much thought as to how long this would be an annual project but here we are….getting ready to celebrate our upcoming 25th year and enjoying producing this site more than ever.
Of course there is now much more to do as we not only are fully engaged in our first mission of bringing all the excitement and thrills of high school football to our readers but we, since 2006, have also had the privilege of broadcasting Haven’s games LIVE, first in audio and now, since 2020 in a full video presentation. Since the beginning our play-by-play announcer, Brian Carroll, the voice of the Panthers, has been behind the mic with the best game calls in high school football! He also writes our weekly “The 50 Yardline” game review and preview for both our webpage and The Swarthmorean newspaper (who happens to be our master sponsor).
That makes for an excellent segway into how important our large group of sponsors are for the continuation of Havenfootball.net. While all of our website and broadcast services are completely free to our readers, listeners and watchers the reality is that nothing is free. It takes a crew of five to keep this service running and a constant upgrade of technology and equipment. All of this cost money. Our webpage upgrade last year was $1500 and our wonderful new camera (manned by Dean Michaelson) was $3,000. Andrew Kauffman, our Stat Guy and equipment guru keeps us updated with new equipment buys every season. The only way this happens is with the extremely generous support of the sponsors shown on these pages. Please patronize these businesses whenever possible and thank them for their support. We literally would not be here without them.

We are very excited to bring you the beginning of, what we hope will be, a new tradition as the Chester Clippers come into George L. King Field for the first game of the season. Both Chester and Haven have had great success on the gridiron these last few years (including playing each other for a District Title in 2023) and this will be the first regular season contest between these two teams in many years. It should be a thriller!
