District 1 football classifications are divided into 6 classifications based on student population. Strath Haven and most of the Central League are in in the 5A classification while the remainder are in 6A.
The PIAA District One office creates and manages the playoff schedule and actual game presentation. All ticket fees belong to District One as well as video streaming rights (which are usually paid by the school). In return the District pays for the referees and security (local police). The school is free to run concession and merchandise stands and collect the income from those activities.

Each team receives a seed number and the higher seed of each match is the home team. Here are the playoff brackets for 5A and 6A:

The playoff system is a one and out. In other words, you continue to play until you lose.
