New stable of Strath Haven backs hit the ground running

It only took one shaky opening drive for Strath Haven to remind everyone what they’ve been built on for decades: A bruising, fast, and flat-out dangerous ground game.

Sound familiar? It should. A relentless rushing attack and Kevin Clancy’s Wing-T offense have gone together forever, and some years the Panthers churn out not one but multiple 1,000-yard backs. Think James Fisher, the 2023 Daily Times Player of the Year, or All-Delcos Shane Green and Marco Kaufman.

Friday night at George L. King Field, a new wave of backs took their turn. Meet juniors Landon Barlow, Yosef Ali and Kasey Hudson, plus senior Ryan Mudrick. Together they shredded Interboro in a 44-7 rout that was over long before the fourth quarter.
