Garnet Valley and Strath Haven find themselves in familiar territory once again.
It was last Oct. 6 when both teams entered their highly anticipated confrontation undefeated and tied for first place in the Central League. Strath Haven’s then-junior running backs, Shane Green and James Fisher, combined for over 200 rushing yards to power the Panthers to a 28-19 win at Garnet Valley’s Moe DeFrank Stadium. The victory snapped Garnet Valley’s 46-game Central League winning streak, marking the Jaguars’ first league loss since 2017 and Strath Haven’s first triumph over GV since 2010.
Now, nearly a year later, the two teams meet Friday night boasting 4-0 records and tied with Springfield for first place in the Central League. It’s déjà vu all over again.
