You know Strath Haven is having a memorable season when one of its offensive guards is catching touchdown passes.

Senior Ryan Feinberg started at tight end for the first time and snagged his first career catch, a 39-yard touchdown, late in the third quarter of Friday’s 35-7 win over Upper Darby. Feinberg converted from his regular position on the offensive line out of necessity as both of Haven’s tight ends were out sick during the practice week.

Senior quarterback Sam Milligan aired the ball out to Feinberg, who was left alone in the defensive secondary. The Haven sideline erupted in loud cheer to celebrate Feinberg’s moment in the sun.

“I wasn’t supposed to get the ball thrown to me,” Feinberg said. “I was open. It was a great feeling, I’ll always remember it.”

“With a few of our tight ends out sick I put (Feinberg) there during practice and he looked good. So I said, let’s put him out there for the game,” coach Kevin Clancy said. “He caught the touchdown pass, but his blocking was good. He was another lineman on the field and did a great job blocking for us. … It was the first time he played an eligible position and it was nice to see him play well.”
