The Strath Haven varsity football team (7-1) played against the Harriton Rams (1-7) on Friday, October 10, extending their winning streak to three.

The game got off to a hot start for the Panthers, with senior Ryan Mudrick punching in a short score to take an early lead. After a quick stop from the defense, Mudrick cashed in another score, giving the Panthers a strong lead to begin the game.

The floodgates would only open from there, with another touchdown from Mudrick, a breakaway run from junior Derek Bradley, and a sensational 52-yard deep ball from senior quarterback Luke Mulhern to junior tight end Tyler Slaughter.

The defense had an equally amazing half, as they stuffed the Rams both on the ground and in the air to give Haven a commanding 35-0 lead into the break.

Coming out of the half, the Rams began to show some life with multiple big-yardage gains, but that momentum was quickly snuffed by senior cornerback Brady Nangle, who intercepted a pass and gave the ball back to the Panthers.

“Just being in the right spot, doing what my coach said, it’s incredible,” Nangle said. Nangle had two interceptions during the night and played good defense on the other team’s receivers.
