A Delco football season by the numbers, many of them impressive

It’s time once again for the By The Numbers notebook, which provides a numerical, if not analytical look at the Delaware County campaign.

Now is a good time in the schedule to pay tribute to former Times reporter John Lohn, who is enjoying life as a school teacher these days. This was his idea, we think, during the bygone era of coaches sharing game film on VHS and dial-up internet.

EA and Haverford will meet Saturday, Nov. 12 to close out the Inter-Ac League campaign. Before then the Churchmen play at Malvern Prep and the Fords host Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, both games Saturday at 2.

Garnet Valley and Strath Haven shared the Central League championship. The programs are competing in the District 1 Class 6A and 5A playoffs,. respectively, beginning Friday. Both are also looking to repeat as champions in their district tournaments.
