There is no easing into the 2026 season for Strath Haven. The Panthers open at home against Chester, the reigning Del Val League champion, in a rematch of the 2023 District 1 Class 5A championship game.
Strath Haven is coming off a 10-3 season, including a 7-2 mark in the Central League, and enters the fall with plenty of experience. Kevin Clancy returns for his 36th season at the helm, 13 victories shy of 400 for his career.
The Panthers return a deep group of seniors, particularly at linebacker and in the backfield. Yosef Ali, Derrick Bradley and Kasey Hudson give them proven production among their ball carriers and defensive playmakers. Landon Barlow, Cole Haly and Patrick Burke add more veteran muscle on both sides.
Up front, Tyler Slaughter, Zach Milligan and Chase Shuster provide some size and experience, while John Reilly adds another versatile piece at tight end and defensive back. Jalen Starr returns at receiver and cornerback.
Jake Plunket steps into the quarterback spot after starting two games last season. Matt Styer gives the Panthers a proven weapon in the kicking and return game.
The challenge is up front. Strath Haven is rebuilding both lines, but the pieces around them are plenty seasoned.
