Another week, another shutout.
The Panthers came out strong, opening the game on offense and putting together a scoring drive to take an early lead. Marple Newtown responded with a promising drive of their own but Haven’s defense held strong and forced a turnover to regain possession.
The first half was a true defensive battle with both teams fighting for every yard. It took until the second half for the Panthers to find their offensive spark.
Zach Farabaugh broke through the middle of the defense and raced 60-yards and followed that run up with a touchdown, giving Haven the momentum they needed.
From there the Haven defense continued to take over. The Panthers recorded three interceptions on the afternoon, with Owen Miller, Zach Farabaugh, and Luke Connor each coming away with a pick. Owen Miller added another highlight to his season by returning his interception 55-yards for a pick-six, giving him three interceptions and two pick-sixes on the season.
Offensively, Dom Diversa continued to make plays through the air, finishing with 4 receptions for roughly 50-yards.
The Panthers also saw some impressive grit from backup quarterback Andrew Shuster who turned, what appeared to be a stuffed QB sneak, into a hard-earned 10-yard gain refusing to go down and fighting for every inch.
It wasn’t pretty. It wasn’t easy. It was a dog fight. But the Panthers stayed disciplined, battled through it, and once again finished the job without allowing a single point.
Final: Strath Haven 20, Marple Newtown 0
Another shutout. Another team win.
The Panthers move to 4–0 on the season.
