Strath Haven’s Chase Barlow has given credit to his offensive line on many occasions this year. He’ll never get tired of saying nice things about them, either.

Barlow rushed for an average of 15.2 yards per carry in last week’s District 1 Class 5A quarterfinal. He finished with 152 yards and three touchdowns as Strath Haven defeated Marple Newtown, 42-16.

While the Panthers have a talented group of ball carriers led by Barlow, Anthony Crawford and Matt Shuler, Kevin Clancy’s Wing-T offense works best if the big dudes up front are absolutely dominating. For the majority of the season, they’ve been just that.

“When we’re able to take care of things up front, get them rolling a little bit, and then Chase or Matt are able to break it away, that really can take the energy out of (defenses),” said senior tackle Ben Farabaugh, who starts on the unit with Nick Filos, Jack Beck, Ethan Barrar, Jake Millett, Mason Green and Nate Perlman. Green and Perlman are the split ends and big targets for quarterback Sam Milligan in the passing game.
