Strath Haven stuck to what it does best Friday night in a 25-0 victory over Conestoga.
The Panthers called 59 run plays and zero passes … and dominated the Pioneers. Both teams entered with 2-0 records.
Senior Anthony Crawford amassed 188 yards on 27 carries and scored two touchdowns. Bob Fooskas finished with 113 yards and a TD, while Austin Conner rushed for 44 yards on eight totes.
“I’m going to block, I’m going to run. I’ll do whatever is needed,” Conner said. “As long as we win the game, I’m happy.”
Strath Haven (3-0, 1-0 Central) has outscored opposition this year, 102-19. Defensively the Panthers forced three turnovers, including a pair of interceptions by Sam Milligan, the starting quarterback who was cleared to play Thursday after suffering a hand injury two weeks ago. With an oversized cast, Milligan made a huge impact in the defensive secondary, twice picking off Conestoga quarterback Peter Costigan.
