The corona virus pandemic has put a full stop to college recruiting in the nation. Luckily for Isaiah Rogers, he is ahead of the curve.
Before the world changed, the Academy Park junior garnered a ton of attention from college coaches. One of the best football prospects in Delaware County, Rogers has been racking up Division I offers for months now.
“It’s exciting,” Rogers said in a phone interview. “It’s great going to all these different colleges and touring the campuses.”
In the past week, Rogers reports he picked up offers from Colorado and Old Dominion. In total, he has offers from nine Division 1 programs: Akron, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Colorado, Kent State, Massachusetts, Old Dominion, Toledo and Western Kentucky.
Rogers doesn’t want to rush his decision. By the time he begins his senior year, it’s likely he will have reached double digits in scholarship offers.
The All-Delco and all-state defensive tackle is appreciative of every college that has offered him or simply reached out and shown some level of interest. Rogers has showcased his talents at many camps, and earned the defensive lineman MVP award at a camp hosted by All-State Preps High School Football and 247sports.com in February.
